VICE-CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE

Welcome to North South University (NSU), and it is indeed a great pleasure for me to address you here.

Established in 1992 as the first private university in Bangladesh, NSU has grown into a leading center of excellence in higher education, known for its academic programs and contributions to research and community development. Today this center, our university, has earned the trust of people, both nationally and internationally.

The university has already made significant social impacts. Human capital development is one such great impact. By providing quality education and fostering research, NSU contributes to the development of a skilled workforce that plays significant roles in driving economic growth and innovation in Bangladesh. Also, NSU's focus on research and community engagement has led to the development of solutions to many pressing social issues like sanitation, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, thereby empowering socially and economically marginalized communities.

We have also made significant strides in internationalization, aiming to create a globally connected campus. NSU actively participates in student exchange programs with universities worldwide, enabling students to study abroad and gain international exposure. Furthermore, the university has established partnerships with universities and institutions around the globe, facilitating joint research projects, faculty exchanges, and student collaborations. Our full-time international faculty members also contribute greatly to our faith in internationalization. Needless to mention that NSU incorporates international perspectives and content into its curriculum to provide students with a global outlook. To add, we want to believe that we attract a diverse student body from various countries, creating a multicultural learning environment. Our diverse student body and faculty members foster a culture of inclusivity and tolerance, promoting understanding and respect.

We offer a wide array of support to our students, aiming to foster a conducive learning environment and overall well-being. Our library is well-equipped with a vast collection of books, journals, and online resources, providing students with ample access to academic materials. The Career and Placement Center provides guidance on career exploration and job placement opportunities. The North South University Startups Next helps to create the next generation of startup founders and entrepreneurs. The Counseling and Wellbeing Center offers professional counseling services to address students' emotional, social, and psychological well-being. Then, the Financial Aid Office to offer various financial aid options including scholarships, the Student Clubs to cater diverse student interests, and the Medical Center to address students' immediate medical needs are just among the few of the other student supports. These support systems aim to create a holistic environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Finally, we consider our graduates to be a significant asset to the university and the broader community. They have achieved success in various fields and often contribute to the university through mentorship, financial support, and career guidance for current students. You, our current students, will also be a part of this alumni association soon.

Thus, as I conclude, our dedicated faculty members are here to mentoring the current as well as future students. Their knowledge, research skills, and expertise will equip you with the necessary skills to thrive in your professional lives. Surely, you will add your own identity and flavor to all these skills, and thus become unique and successful. We ensure the proud parents that your children will be taken care of and assisted to become a better version of his or her being.
