Public Policy and Governance (PPG) Program of North South University has organized a Seminar to celebrate a decade long North-South Knowledge Collaboration in higher education with its partner Institutions from Norway, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan on May 07, 2018 at NSU. The journey of this academic collaboration began in 2008 with an aim to create and disseminate knowledge on Policy and Governance issues in public domain along with develop skilled human resource in Civil Service. The University of Bergen, Norway; University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka; Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and Royal University of Bhutan are the partners of NSU in this decade long journey.
The prominence of the occasion was further amplified by the launching of an edited book on "Governance and Development Management: South Asian Perspective". The book features eight chapters, along with an Introductory Chapter on the selected issues on policy and governance, based on empirical evidences from South Asian countries which provide deep insight on the subject matters to the readers. This book is originated from eight outstanding graduate theses of Public Policy and Governance (PPG) Program.
The event of Celebrating Decade of Partnership and Book Launching has been marked distinctive by the presence of Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman as chief guest. Professor Salahuddin M Aminuzzaman was the distinguished discussant to discuss various aspects of chapters of the Book. Mr. Md. Ziaul Isalm, Secretary, Planning Division, ministry of Planning, Government of Bangladesh, Mr. Trulus Julian, Charge d affaires, Royal Norwegian Embassy in Dhaka and Mr. Mohammed Shajahan, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) were presented as Guest of Honor. Professor Atique Islam, Vice-chancellor of NSU presided over the session.
