Campus History

A campus builtfor the next chapter.

The foundation of NSU's permanent campus at Bashundhara was laid in 2003. Following several years of construction, the university moved to its permanent campus in 2009, establishing a purpose-built academic environment designed to support the needs of a growing university.

Developed on approximately 5.5 acres, the campus was planned as an integrated academic complex combining teaching spaces, administrative offices, laboratories, computing facilities, library resources, student amenities and shared spaces.

The Campus

A Campus Builtfor Learning

Designed according to a master plan developed by an international team of architects, the NSU campus is organized around three principal buildings: the Administrative Building, the North Academic Building and the South Academic Building.

The campus combines academic and administrative functions with spaces for study, collaboration, recreation and student services. Its architecture and interconnected spaces create a distinctive university environment within Dhaka.

Administrative Building

Seven storeys housing the Board of Trustees, Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Treasurer, Registrar and Deans.

North Academic Building (NAC)

Ten storeys accommodating the Schools of Business and Arts & Social Sciences, and the Confucius Institute.

South Academic Building (SAC)

Ten storeys housing the Schools of Engineering & Applied Sciences and Life Sciences.

The 1.2 million square feet of floor space accommodates a wide range of facilities designed to support teaching, learning and university operations. Classrooms and lecture theatres are equipped with modern teaching aids, while campus-wide connectivity supports digital learning and academic work.

The campus also provides a fully automated library, IP telephony, 35 administrative offices and 391 faculty offices.
