Curriculum Vitae

Samila Nowshin is a full-time Lecturer in History at North South University (NSU), where she has been employed since 2023. She earned her MPhil degree in 2022 from the University of Delhi, India, specialising in the syncretistic traditions of the Bengal region from the 3rd century BCE to the 12th century CE. Her research interests and expertise encompass South Asian history in general, with a particular focus on the history, culture, and heritage of Bengal and Bangladesh.

Ms Nowshin aims to bridge the past and present by understanding the individuality of the land and its people, concentrating on the historical and cultural changes and continuities in Bengal and Bangladesh. She has co-authored an article examining the state formation of the Bengal/Bangladesh region from ancient times to the present. Currently, she is researching the geographical factors influencing the culture of the Bengal region.

She completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Department of History, University of Dhaka. She has received several prestigious awards throughout her academic career, including the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarship for her MPhil studies.
