Imteaz Mahmud is a medical graduate from Dhaka, Bangladesh and has eight years of experience in child health and nutrition. He joined ICDDR, B in 2016 as a Project Research Physician. He worked as a co-investigator on two clinical trials funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, designed to assess the synergy between different combinations of direct nutrition interventions in improving the weight-for-length Z-scores in a cohort of malnourished children.
Imteaz is a Chevening scholar for 2019-20. He holds an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and an MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He is a Registered Associate Nutritionist (ANutr). Imteaz was a consultant for The Power of Nutrition. This innovative financing platform generates new funding by building effective partnerships and driving investment for nutrition programmes in low and middle-income countries. Currently, he is a Lecturer in the Department of Public Health at North South University.
