Dr. Nusrat E Mozid is a physician and researcher currently working as a full-time faculty lecturer in the Department of Public Health, School of Health & Life Sciences at North South University. Her work focuses on conducting research in behavioral sciences. Her transition from clinical medicine to high-level behavioral research in the United States highlights her career trajectory. It demonstrates a strong commitment to bridging the gap between medicine and social & behavioral sciences, particularly through her work at major institutions such as NYU and Columbia University.

Leveraging her clinical training, she researches how behavioral theories can be applied to human health. She utilizes several key behavioral theories and models to analyze health behaviors and to design interventions. The primary theories that inform her work include habit theory, self-determination theory, behavioral self-regulation, attachment theory, and family systems theory. She operationalizes these through complementary behavioral models such as the MOST framework, COM-B model, Socio-ecological Model, and Behavior Change Wheel. Her research has been published in top social scientific outlets, including the Annals of Behavioral Medicine, BMC Geriatrics, Innovation in Aging, PLOS One etc.

During the past year, Dr. Nusrat has been actively engaged in teaching, where she created and taught undergraduate lecture courses, conducted weekly lab and discussion sections, supervised thesis students, provided one-on-one academic and career mentoring, and embedded her ongoing research into assignments and class projects to foster applied learning. Her instruction emphasizes rigorous research methods, ethical conduct, and the translation of behavioral theory into practical interventions, equipping students with the analytical skills and professional judgment necessary to design and implement evidence-based behavioral solutions for complex public health challenges.

Dr. Nusrat is open to mentoring students and supporting their academic and research development.
