

North South University (NSU) has once again secured a position among Bangladesh’s highest-ranked universities, jointly ranking #1 in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027. NSU shares the top position with American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Daffodil International University, and Jahangirnagar University, with all four universities placed in the 801–1000 band globally. The ranking bands are used to make allowance for margin of error.
The results of the 2027 edition were unveiled on 30 September 2026. This year’s THE World University Rankings assessed 2,297 universities from 118 countries, making it one of the most extensive global assessments of higher education institutions. This year's rankings include 25 universities from Bangladesh.
NSU’s continued presence in the top group reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening academic quality, research, global engagement, and graduate outcomes. The university continues to work toward enhancing its performance across key areas of institutional development and international higher education.
