The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal blueprint adopted in 2015, consisting of 17 interconnected goals aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring peace and prosperity for all by 2030. These goals address global challenges such as climate change, inequality, education, health, and economic growth. As of 2025, global progress remains mixed: over 700 million people still live in extreme poverty, while one-third of the world’s population lacks access to clean water. Meanwhile, renewable energy now accounts for over 30% of global electricity generation, and primary school enrollment exceeds 90% globally. However, urgent efforts are needed to accelerate action across all goals, especially in the least developed and climate-vulnerable nations.
