Recently Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) located in Xi’an, China, invited North South University (NSU) to visit NPU from October 13th - 15th, 2018. The NSU delegation consisted of honorable Vice Chancellor of NSU, Dr. Atique Islam and Dr. Shahnewaz Siddique, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NSU.
During this visit NSU attended a number of official programs of NPU including NPU’s 80th anniversary celebrations and the 2018 Global Partner Week Presidents Forum. At the forum presidents and vice chancellors from the invited universities exchanged ideas and information on the key theme on how to build the “world class universities” of the future. NSU Vice Chancellor Dr. Atique Islam was an active participant in this information exchange and thought leadership. In addition to these events, Professor Atique had a number of meetings with high officials in NPU to discuss matters of mutual interests and future research and educational collaborations.
In addition to official NPU organized programs, the Bangladeshi students studying at NPU hosted a reception in honor of the NSU delegation. At the reception Vice Chancellor Dr. Atique Islam presented a very motivating speech to encourage the students and give them strength. Later in the evening Professor Atique hosted a dinner for the Bangladeshi students studying at NPU.
