Mr. M. A. Hashem, a Founder Life Member of the North South University (NSU) Trust, has been unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the North South University Trust in its 85th Board of Trustees Meeting and the Board of Governors of The North South Foundation for Education and Research in its 303th Board of Governors held on 27 June for the year of 2018-2019. He took charge on July 1, 2018.
A renowned industrialist of the country, Mr. M. A. Hashem is the former Member of Parliament of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad; Chairman of the Partex Group; Advisor to the Janata Insurance Company Ltd.; Founder of Noakhali Diabetic Samity and Founder President of Noakhali M. A. Hashem Degree College.
He had also served the NSU Foundation as its Chairman for the year 2003-2004 and 2012-2013. The North South Foundation for Education and research is the founder of NSU, the first private university of the country.
