The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is currently implementing its fourth Sector Program titled "4th Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Program (HPNSP)" covering a 5.5-year period between January 2017 and June 2022. The Program's objective is to ensure that all citizens of Bangladesh enjoy health and well-being by expanding access to quality and equitable healthcare in a healthy and safe living environment.

A MoU titled "A baseline public health situational analysis for implementing a "Healthy City" project to combat non- communicable diseases in a selected municipalities (Dhaka North & Khulna) of Bangladesh" was signed between Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and North South University on 4 February 2019.
