About

ADVOCATE SAQUIB RAHMAN is an academic lawyer and full-time faculty member of the Department of Law at North South University. In addition to his academic pursuits, he is an avid contributor to Bangladesh’s national newspapers and serves as the Editor of Progress Magazine.

Prior to joining North South University as a Lecturer in the Spring of 2017, Saquib taught at the University of Asia Pacific. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer at North South University in Fall 2020.

He currently serves as the Business Law Programs Coordinator in the Department of Law at North South University. From Fall 2020 to Spring 2023, he also served as the Faculty Advisor to the North South University Ethics & Diversity Club.

For more than a decade, Saquib has remained deeply engaged in advocacy and activism seeking justice and accountability in relation to the BDR Pilkhana carnage of 25–26 February 2009, in which 57 Bangladesh Army officers were killed in Dhaka. Among those who lost their lives was his father, Colonel Quadrat Elahi Rahman Shafique, ndc, psc.

Saquib’s most recent academic qualification was obtained from Warwick Law School in the United Kingdom.
