Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossen Toushik is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Microbiology at North South University. Previously, he worked as a Senior Lecturer at Stamford University, Bangladesh, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Professor Won-Bo Shim lab) at Gyeongsang National University, South Korea. Dr. Toushik earned his Ph.D. in Food Microbiology from Chung-Ang University (CAU), South Korea under the supervision of Professor Sang-Do Ha and received the Chung-Ang University Young Scientist Scholarship (CAYSS). During his Ph.D., he focused on identifying antimicrobial compounds in medicinal plants and probiotic bacteria against pathogenic bacterial biofilms in seafood. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from Khulna University and an M.Sc. in Microbiology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Norway. Dr. Toushik's expertise lies in Food Safety, Biofilm, Molecular Biology, and Structural Biology, with his research published in prestigious international journals, and roles as a Review Editor in several peer-reviewed international journals.
