Mr. Rahaman has been a Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, since September 2014. Before joining here, he took up a brief tenure of lectureship at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), and also worked at the Enteric and Food Microbiology Lab, ICDDR,B as a research officer.
He had completed his B.S. and M.S. from the Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology, University of Dhaka, and secured 1st and 3rd place respectively. In his undergrad, he was the top scorer in the Faculty of Biological Sciences that comprises ten top departments of the University of Dhaka. His outstanding academic records had been commended with the prestigious Deans’ Award, Prime Minister’s Gold Medal and Pre-graduate merit scholarships. Later, he was awarded Commonwealth Shared Scholarship to pursue an MSc in Molecular Medicine (Cancer) at the University of Sheffield, UK. At Sheffield, he secured a strong merit and presented his project at the Genomics of Common Diseases Conference, held in the University of Oxford. 
He had taught Basic Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology-I, and Fundamental Computers & Bioinformatics in undergrad level. He had also published couple of good impact peer-reviewed articles in the fields of Systems Biology and Molecular Epidemiology. Currently, he is on study leave to pursue PhD in Structural Biology at The University Queensland, Australia. He has been very passionate to establish an independent research group to enhance his academic career in near future. He likes poetry, music and travelling a lot.
