About

Sibgat Mehedi Hasan, EIT, is a civil engineering lecturer and construction-management researcher whose work focuses on modular construction and the advancement of smart, human-centered technologies in the built environment. He is currently a faculty member in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at North South University, Bangladesh, where he teaches courses in open-channel flow, surveying and GIS, civil engineering drawing, and building structures.

He received his Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA, and his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology, Bangladesh. His master’s research investigated productivity in modular buildings, with particular emphasis on the relationship between building size and project productivity.

His research interests include modular and off-site construction, smart technologies in modular construction, human factors, construction worker behavior, human-robot interaction, and construction automation. He is especially interested in understanding how emerging technologies, automation, and data-driven approaches can improve workforce safety, productivity, and decision-making in industrialized construction.

His recent paper, “Correlation between Size and Productivity on Modular Buildings,” co-authored with Dr. Jin Ouk Choi, has been accepted for publication in ASCE’s Journal of Management in Engineering. His broader publication record also includes work on smart technologies for modular construction, bibliometric reviews, water and environmental research, and seismic performance of reinforced-concrete buildings.
