About

Dr. Tanvir Mustafy is a distinguished scholar with an illustrious academic and research career in civil engineering. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the prestigious Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and an M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada. His academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Computational Mechanics from the University of Montreal, Canada, where he was honored with the Gold Medal for his exceptional research contributions. Additionally, Dr. Tanvir completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Imperial College London.  

Dr. Mustafy's research and teaching interests are broad and interdisciplinary, encompassing machine learning applications in structural engineering, earthquake engineering, advanced finite element modeling, structural dynamics, data analysis, and injury biomechanics. His profound knowledge and innovative contributions to these fields have earned him international recognition.

Currently, Dr. Mustafy serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at North South University (NSU), Bangladesh. Before joining NSU, he held a similar position at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Bangladesh. His research career includes collaborating with a prestigious group of scientists under one of Canada’s most renowned Research Chairs during his Ph.D. tenure. His global academic footprint extends to France, where he spent three months as a visiting scholar at Aix-Marseille University.

Dr. Mustafy's professional accolades include the esteemed title of Professional Structural Engineer (SEng), awarded by BUET, ICC (USA), RAJUK, URP, and IEB. His prolific contributions to his field are evident in the over 100 journal articles and conference papers he has authored, reflecting his deep commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in civil engineering.
