Topic: “Groundwater Monitoring and Well Development in Bangladesh”
On December 7, 2019, as part of the Groundwater Hydraulics (CEE 460) class, Prof. Dr. NazmunNahar, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DCEE), North South University invited Dr. Anwar Zahid to give a seminar on "Groundwater Monitoring and Well Development in Bangladesh”. Dr. Zahid is the Director of Groundwater Hydrology division of Bangladesh Water Development Board. He discussed groundwater condition of Bangladesh and highlighted on differences among hydrological conditions of different areas such as coastal, barind and madhupur tract, hill tracts etc. Dr. Zahid presented data related to aquifer characteristics and also shared information related to well development processes. The students found the lecture to be very informative and interactive and highly appreciated the lecture. Around 33 students attended the seminar.
