Seminar by Dr. Jeremy Kohlitz, Research Director of Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS.


The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering successfully organized a seminar on February 24th where Dr. Jeremy Kohlitz from University of Technology Sydney, Australia, came to visit the department and provided a talk on “Climate change and innovative sanitation technologies” among DCEE students in the Syndicate Hall of North South University. Dr. Jeremy Kohlitz is the Research Director of Institute for Sustainable Futures at University of Technology Sydney and a pioneering researcher in the field of Climate Change Impacts on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), equitable WASH service delivery, and WASH in low- and middle-income countries of Asia and the Pacific Island region. He has worked intensively in Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, Cambodia. The session was Moderated by Dr. Asef Mohammad Redwan, Assistant Professor at DCEE, and Chaired by Dr. S. M. Ashfaqul Hoq, Chair of DCEE. Dr. Kathryn Northcut, Fulbright Specialist at NSU, joined from Missouri University of Science & Technology USA,  and Dr. Shama E. Haque (Associate Professor, DCEE) also attended the seminar along with a good number of students.. At the end of the talk and a lively Q/A session with the students, the possible collaboration opportunities between University of Technology Sydney and North South University were discussed.
