Research mission statement

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at North South University aspires to engage into applied and productivity oriented research that serve the needs of the targeted communities in a sustainable way. The applied research focuses on the country’s transportation and water sectors to deliver efficient solutions to field problems that have been troubling these sectors for a long time. Furthermore, focused research outputs are planned to serve battered communities that are suffering with water supply scarcity and waste disposal issues. Output oriented research are strategic toward developing various computational mechanics and soil-structure interaction models having impacts in both theoretical and practical deliberations. The Department plans to strengthen its linkages with local and international research communities by forming a society on frontiers in energy and infrastructure in line with its conferences and joint research initiatives.
