August 20, 2023: In a bid to delve into the strategic shift in Bangladesh's foreign policy, a significant Policy Colloquium titled ‘Bangladesh’s Pivot Towards BRICS: Challenges and Interests’ was held today at the Syndicate Hall of North South University (NSU). This event was organized by the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG), NSU. The meeting was moderated by Professor Sk. Tawfique M. Haque, Chair, Department of Political Science and Sociology & Director, South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG).
Distinguished experts and scholars converged for this thought-provoking discussion on Bangladesh's possible engagement with BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), assessing the potential challenges and benefits inherent in this geopolitical pivot.

Dr. Lailufar Yasmin, Professor and Chairperson, Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka emphasized the significance of diplomatic engagements, regional stability, and the role of Bangladesh as a bridge between South Asia and the BRICS nations.
