CPS of SIPG, NSU celebrated its 3rd Anniversary

 

The Center for Peace Studies (CPS) of the South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance (SIPG), North South University (NSU) celebrated its 3rd Anniversary on February 27, 2023. In celebration of this day, CPS has organized a number of events, including SIPG Policy Debate-1 in collaboration with NSU Debate Club. The topic for the debate was “Is there an alternative to student politics to maintain a peaceful environment on university campuses &. The debate program has been started at 11:00 AM at NSU Law Moot Court. The judges were Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar, a Debater, and Media Personality, and Ms. Parisa Shakur, Member, of CPS. The moderator of the debate was Mr. Omar Nasif Abdullah, Faculty, Adviser, NSU Debate Club. In the second part of the program, CPS screened a movie named "Hotel Rwanda" at 2 PM in Audi 801. It was free for all the NSU students and they enjoyed the movie.

The Center for Peace Studies (CPS) was founded in 2020 with the aim to facilitate the academic study of peacebuilding and the promotion of a resilient society through evidence-based and empirical research under the SIPG of NSU. CPS is a platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners from various academic backgrounds to collaborate to create a peaceful world, focusing on long-term and inclusive solutions to contemporary humanitarian crises.  The celebration ended with a cake cutting by CPS student members. Academics, researchers,
staff, journalists, and other NSU students were present at the anniversary celebration.
